Numerous unique design of house has been found so many times and it does not seem to stop yet. Another example is seen from a family house located in Bangalore, India. The project named as Library House has designed by Khosla Associates under principal designers, Sandeep Khosla and Amaresh Anand.
Features of Library House
Building on 13.000 square feet for only three people, the house is maximized in the use of its space. Since the family members are avid fan of books, the house accommodate the use of big bookcase and lots of book collection in the main room – just represented by the name, Library House. The main room itself is a casual place for studying or spending time with family with a large L shaped seating.
In a verandah, there is a seating area where family can enjoy watching rain fall. Large sliding doors separated the main room with the verandah which is adjacent with the main room. The large garden and pool deck are the direct view from verandah. The two bedrooms are placed on the first floor with the view of garden and pool deck.
The materials used for the floor of verandah, dining and library room are Yellow Jaiselmer stone with floral patterned tile used for the verandah. Utilizing colonial tile and teakwood of window and door frame, kerala and mangalore tiled roofs affect the highly textural of this house.
