Looking at the slope of a rocky valley, we cannot imagine that there would be a house built there. However, the fact does not say like that because The Jarson Residenceis standing there right now. This family residence which is designed by Will Bruder + Partners is located in Paradise Valeey, Arizona in the challenging topography.
As Though as Rock
Rock is hard and rigid, and the exterior of the house adapt the environment well. Applying modern design, this house has rigid rectangular shape with solid and metal material like copper and steel for the exterior which is facing outside the lot. On the other side, The Jarson Residence also has a warm look for the sides facing the downhill by applying the combination of wooden accent on the wall.
At the rear side of the building, there is a pool—large weathered steel vessel—and small sitting area with the strong dessert ambience. The fence is made from metal netting. This see-through fence benefit the overall building by giving border without losing the surrounding view by showing off the stone uphill. The building blend perfectly with the surrounding, make it as if it appears from the ground. To make the building stronger, some sturdy foundation are planted to the ground—since the location is also uncommon place for residence.
What is Inside?

This is a retreat place for the owner to escape a while from the routine. Therefore, this house has to accommodate the basic need for the comfort of the people lived inside as well as serve the outdoor beauty.
The primary area of the house is located on the upper floor, from the entry and living room until bedrooms. The floors are cork and concrete which is combined to the translucent glass in a wide pane facing the McDowell Mountains in the rear distance. There is also a gallery for the collections of the home owner next to the entry.
